The End of 2012

Well this year is about over.  What a year it has been, we have seen the re-election of a President who is bent on the destruction of this country.  A man that is so obsessed with death and raising taxes and destroying our freedoms that I am still astonished that he even ran for the job, much less was elected.  Trouble and chaos was 2012.  The next year is always something we look forward to with anticipation, not this time.  I don't know or the Lord has not told me what will happen next year, but I can assure you we are in for a rough time.  Taxes will go up, unemployment will be up, freedoms will be lost, religion will be under attack, and war in the Middle East will be on every ones lips.  Watch carefully what happens with Israel. Watch also the social war of pitting one group of Americans against the other.  Left, right, black, white, haves, and have nots.   I have purposed that 2013 will become a great year for me, I am going to become a radical.  A radical for Jesus.  That my friends is what it is going to take to make in the coming years, either submit or live above it.  I choose freedom in Christ Jesus!!  "My God shall supply all of my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."  Phl. 4:19

Mayberry RFD

Happened to turn on the TV this morning and got to see a portion of the old TV show Mayberry.  Interesting to see the old shows and see how far our society has regressed over the last 30 or 40 years.  The scene would never be played out today, it was a church service and the congregation was singing the old Hymn" Leaning on the Everlasting Arms."  Great old song of the Church, but way too much truth to be on TV today.  In fact sometimes it is way too much truth for the church of today.  Humbly leaning on Jesus is exactly what this world and the church needs.  God help us not to be so high and mighty that we forget how needy we actually are.     

Ah the Smells of Christmas

Oh what a joyous time of the year.  The birth of our Saviour and wishes of happiness and prosperity, etc.  Cookies baking, turkey in the oven, children running and laughing with joy.  Oh the smells and sounds of Christmas.  Making my favorite recipe of southern dressin, (dressing to my northern friends).   Smells of bleach as I cleaned the toilet, and the humming sound of the vacuum cleaner.  Dust this and that, move that over here, hurry company is on the way! 
Seriously though, Christmas is all about the new born King, Jesus.  Let's not forget the reason for the season.  There is no Christmas without Christ.  Gifts are nice, but the greatest gift is of eternal life. 

Evil

After the events of yesterday many are wondering how does God allow evil to happen.  Simple answer is that God has given mankind a free will to do as they generally please.  If we have a desire to push God away from our schools, government and life in general, then He steps back and lets us have our way.  One of the most profound ideas of the written word is that "we reap what we sow"  Unfortuantly we are reaping a just reward for our sins.  Does God care?  Yes.  Does God allow us the freedom to choose our own path?  Yes.  It seems very odd to me that on the approaching 40 year anniversry of Roe v Wade, that we show a great outrage at school violence, and we should for it is evil and contemtpable and needs to be stopped; however it woould be nice if we felt the same way about killing the unborn.  I know this may not be the time, but how can we love the newborn if the unborn is just an inconvienence.  How can we as a nation even look to God for comfort and solace if we have slaughtered untold millions of precious babies from the womb of their mothers.  Yes this was an unspeakable evil that killed some 20 young children in Conneticut, but what of the evil of killing millions over the last for decades?  Where does that rank?  I do pray for the families of those who have lost their small children, and hope that peace through Jesus Christ can be found.  That my friends is the answer. 

THE WAY

Many people today are searching for something.  What, many times they don’t know or understand.  A way of happiness or success or fame, it’s all about them and what pleases.  The Apostle Paul in Acts 24:14 writes about The Way.  That is a good description of the Kingdom of God.  The Way!  There really is no other way.  The Way is not a membership roll, but a relationship with a person.  The Way is knowing Jesus in a real and genuine way.  The Way is thinking of others first, caring for the needs of those who are hurting.  The Way is the Gospel, which means “Good News”.  The Way is spreading, conquering the lost with love and hope.  The Way is the only way to heaven and eternal life.  The Way is living a life that honors God and his Word.   The Way is the way I choose to live my life, won’t you join me?  Let’s make this world a better place.

An Old Hymn

On the way home from work today I was listening to a worship tape I had made and the old hymn came on the cd, "what can was away my sins, nothing but the blood of Jesus".  It got me to thinking about our churches today.  How often do we hear about the blood in today's church, or in our worship?  I wonder is it not time to bring it back, maybe singing and preaching and declaring the blood would energize us today.  What is wrong with the world is that the church has forgotten some of it's roots.  Let's bring the altar and the sense of sin and standing before a holy God back into our churches.  Yeah, I know it's old fashion, but it works.  There is something that happens when we sing about the price of our redemption.  O that precious blood, that covered my sins and failures.  I may be old fashioned and out of step, but give me the blood and the altar of God anyday of the week! 
What can wash away my sins?  Nothing but the blood of Jesus.  Praise God! 

God of the Mountains or Valley

In I Kings 20 22-28 we see a story about the King of Syria who believes that the God of Israel is a god of the mountains but not a god of the valleys.  Basically they would attempt to draw Israel into the valley so they could defeat them.  Their reasoning was that Israel's God was only God of certain areas.  Simply put God proved them wrong.  God sent a Prophet to tell the King of Israel that victory would be his because God would fight for them.  God is not put in a box, he is the God of the universe. 
This story is has a spiritual significance of telling us that we need to allow God to be the God of all our life, not just areas that are easy.  Through Christ we are set free from all that hinders us, not just easy situations.  John 10:10 says that Jesus came to give us life and that we may have it abundantly.  Are you living an abundant life?  Are you trusting God with all your life?  Through the blood of Jesus we can have victory over all of life's problems, sickness, sin, bondage, even the fears of just living and trying to get by in this dark world.  Don't be like the Syrians and believe God is only able to bring victory in one area of your life.  God is god over everything!  Together let's trust God to be God.  Imagine what great things God can do with willing and obedient people.    

Random Thoughts

I don't know how to say what is on my mind, too many thoughts, so little time to communicate them.  No. 1 Jesus is coming back soon, very soon.  Read the newspaper and listen to the news and more importantly read various website to learn what is going on in the Middle East.  Hamas as well as other terror groups are continuing the assault against Israel.  Sooner or later the world through the UN will undoubtedly blame Israel and demand more territory for terror groups to lob missiles into Israel.  Israel who is fast becoming the only true democracy in the world will do what all great people do and stop the fighting and try to get along with it's emenies.  Or will they. 
No. 2 Israel is on it's own.  America will not lift a finger to help our only ally in the region.  We in America have elected an avowed Socialist to the White House for another term.  America has thumbed it's nose at God and decided to go it alone, Lord please be merciful to us 

The first paragraph was written on Sunday.  I am writing this on Friday.  A cease fire has gone into effect and hopefully this will stop the killing.  Keep your eyes on the Middle East.  Events will dictate the closeness of the rapture.

Being Thankful

Sitting here on a Friday night enjoying a quiet evening at home with my beautiful wife.  So very thankful for all that God has done for me in my life.  Lots of hard knocks and failures, but the God whom I serve has never let me down.  Life can be so difficult, especially now.  Seems the world is turning wrong in so many ways and evil in the world continues to grow.  It may be a cliche, but I know that my God lives and he has it all under control.  I have read the end of the book and we do win.  Comforting but scary because there is a multitude of humanity that will be lost and sentenced to an eternity without God.  I want to stand in the gap for them, reach out to them and pray for God's mercy and enlightenment.  God be as merciful to each lost soul as you were to me.  Jesus reveal yourself to them.  I pray that you would give all Christians the ability and boldness to share the good news of salvation to those who don't know you,   God touch my heart to share my faith with someone this week.  Give me the heart of the Father!  God's heart is about souls.  We who claim to be Christians must share our faith with this world.  Time is very short and evil and deception is rampant.  God burden us with the cries of the lost.  Keep us awake at night to pray for revival and one more move of God before it is too late.  GIVE ME THE HEART OF THE FATHER!!

Seeing the Unseen

II Corinthians 4:18 "As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen,  For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."  ESV 
As we look at things here on earth, we tend to put way too much emphasis on them.  God is telling us to not be enamoured with what we see, but with the eternal and heavenly, things unseen.  This life will one day cease and all that is here will be gone, but that which is eternal, now unseen, but well know, will last forever.  Praise the Lord that we have more to look forward to than what is here on this earth!!

The Day After

Well I rose from bed this morning knowing that the America that I loved as a child had ceased to exist.  The crash you heard last night was the Liberty Bell cracking under the pressure of socialism.  America has fallen hard in the last four years.  Such a spirit of deception has gripped this nation that it is astonishing.  No place in the Bible is a mention of this once great country.  Now I know why.  I can't even begin to imagine where we may be in four more years of moral decline, high taxes and utter contempt for all that is of God.  Pastors you were afraid to speak out to your congregations and emphasize the Biblical choice in elections for fear of government reprisals.  In Canada Pastors can be silenced with threats of jail time for speaking out against homosexuality.   Is the day far off when officials from the hate speech department of the Federal Government will casually pay a visit to see what is being preached?  We haven't hit bottom yet, but how many freedoms will we lose before 2016.  God is giving us the government we deserve.  The Church has allowed sin to become nothing more than a lifestyle choice, murdering babies in their mother's womb, a choice, watering down the Gospel, a choice.  We will be judged on our choices.   May we fall on his mercy and repent.  God help us.  Elections have consequences and boy is there a big one on the way.

Election Day

God bless the decision of this nation today.  May God forgive our sins and bless us, not what we deserve but in his bountiful grace.  May this election be a turning point for the silent majority.  May we be more vocal and prayerful in the coming days.

Election 2012

Never has there been a more contrasting election for President in these United States. One candidate is so enthralled with death he allows babies near and new born to die willingly.  His pro abortion stance is frightening.   His fascination with death extends to those serving this country on foreign soil, as he watched terrorists attack and kill our countryman.  His total disregard for this country and the things that made it great is astonishing!
The other candidate is not perfect and I don't presume to think he will solve our problems, they are morale not political, but at least he believes in this country and its people.  The only chance America has is for us to throw the present occupant of the White House out the door, "fire him" as Clint Eastwood said, and elect a true American to lead us.  Pray not only for this election on the Presidential level but also on the local level.  Let's take back this country from the extremist and give it back to the ones that love and appreciate the values it was founded on! 
Pray for America, revival, and pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

Benghazi

What kind of world are we living in that an all out attack against our embassy in Benghazi draws no outrage from the media.  Is it that important for this failed President to be re-elected?  We are seeing the beginning effects of what will only magnify as we get closer to the end times.  Our President apparently watched for 6 hours the attack and did nothing.  NOTHING!  How could any decent person do that?  Life means nothing to these people, God help them.  I said on social media that this President has blood on his hands, but he always has.  He is the most pro abortion (pro death) President we have ever elected.  His total disregard for Judeo-Christian morality is astonishing.  Pray for America, and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Something is in the Air

What is that?  Feel it, sense it, most people do, they just don't know what it is.  So strong and heavy you can almost cut it with a knife.  Is it fear, anticipation?  Dread, that's it, pure unadulterated dread.  I read a recent article that stated over 60% of the American people have an impending worry about the future of our country.  They sense that something big and drastic is about to happen.  Some fear government takeover and loss of freedoms, others fear a financial meltdown, or even terror attacks or armed revolt.  Tomorrow is unseen and we have a fear of the unknown.  This is different than normal worries of tomorrow, kid's education, housing issues or just life.  The fear or dread that is here now is real and it lives.  Everywhere you go someone is worried about the future.  Survivalist groups are growing.  Gun sales are up.  People are dying, or committing suicide at an alarming high rate.  Killing babies and calling it pro-choice, alternative lifestyles are the norm and promoted.  So called hate speech is now the norm for all who don't want to hear the truth.  Do you feel it now?  Sense it?  What do we do?  No one wants to hear this but the only solution is to put our hope in God.  If one reads the Bible this is all foretold in God's holy word.  A time of trouble is coming, the stage is being set.  Only the sound of the trumpet call is left for us to hear.  The only way out is up!  Jesus truly is the only hope for this world.  Knowing Christ in all his love and fullness is the answer.  Call upon his name and ask Him to come into your life.  It won't make things better instantly, but at least the future is secure.  The Bride and The Spirit say come!  Come quickly Lord Jesus!

The Bible talks about a time in the last days when men's hearts will fail.  We have entered a period in time just preceding what the Bible calls as the Great Tribulation Period.  Pressures and fears are on every side and many feel their is no way out.  A spirit of Anti-Christ has invaded the world we live in.  Instead of turning to God, many look for a different answer.  May God help us to provide the truth to hurting humanity.  Amazing that so many find the precious life God has given to be unworthy of living.  God help us.

Fruitfullness

We as Christians always want to shout and sing and dance and just have a wonderful service at church.  Nothing wrong with a good mountain top experience for sure.  I love it too.  Did you know not much grows on the tops of mountains.  If we are to reproduce and bear fruit we must live mostly in the valley.  In the valley is where the work is, and also where the battle is.  The life we live now on this earth is tough, but worth it when we live for Christ.  Someday we will see Him and all the struggles of this life will seem to be as nothing.  Let's grow fruit!

Gratitude

I wish I was always thankful for what God does for me.  Sometimes we all take for granted the goodness and blessing that come from our Heavenly Father.  From now on I want to be grateful and thankful for what comes my way.  We in this country are so blessed and need to show it.  God forgive me and change my heart to one of thanksgiving.  Praise the Lord!!  God is good.

Pray for Israel

Please pray for the peace of Jerusalem!  The middle east is a powder keg about to explode.  Pray for the will of God and revival to break out in that part of the world.

Why Worship is Important

Why does worship bring us into the presence of God?  Why is worship so very important to us and to God?  First of all it makes us thankful and helps shifts our focus off our problems, allowing us to trust and believe God for an answer.  But further let us look at Isaiah 14 and realize that Lucifer was in charge of heavenly worship to God.  Through jealously and pride he fell, and has always tried to get us to doubt God and His Word!  If we worship God we are defeating the enemy and proclaiming God is sovereign.  God not only loves our worship and thankfulness, but we defeat the enemy on his own terms without lifting a finder!  Praise God forever!  Glory be to God in the highest!  That wasn't hard and gains a victory for our soul.  Learn to worship and enter the very presence of the Almighty.

Freedom

Are you free?  On this July 4th we always consider our freedoms and the greatness of this wonderful country we live in.  I am thankful that I was raised in the United States of America, but how many of us are really free?  It seems government is getting more intrusive and demanding on each of us.  Regulations, taxes, laws that seem to restrict us are everywhere.  The cost of freedom has been paid for by many with their own life's blood.  Extremely thankful to those who have die to keep our country free.  But, are we really free.  Real freedom comes from only one place.  The Bible tells us that if we are in Christ and have trusted and given our life to Him,  then and only them are we truly free.  John 8:32 "tells us whom the Son (Jesus) has set free is free indeed."  Freedom can only come when we are not in debt to anyone.  The world controls and Jesus sets free.  So I ask again are you free?  If not call out to the only one who can set you free. 

Beware the Wolves

In Luke 10:3  Jesus said he sent his deciples out as "sheep among wolves".  Jesus also said that after He would leave, grievious wolves would come in and attack us.  Many times we get upset when problems come our way,  but Jesus predicted it would happen.  The day we are living in Christians everwhere are being attacked, for what they believe, and what they say and even the attitude others think we have.  Makes me think that if we are having it all go our way with no problems or worries from the world, then maybe we really we aren't His sheep.  Christians should have issues with the world, after all we are an enemy to the world.  The Christian lifestyle and belief is so contrary to what the world thinks that we bring condemnation on them without even saying a world.  Live as a sheep and expect to run back to the shepard when the wolves growl.  Remember they may growl, but they can't bite.  God has His hand of protection apon us.  If you are a sheep, you will hear the wolves growl.

Our Father In Heaven

Many times our relationship with our earthly father is what determines how we perceive our Heavenly Father.  I was very fortunate that my father was a very patient and loving man.  He was very tenderhearted and easy to talk to, but strong when needed.  Thanks Dad!  If that is the case I have a great perception of the Heavenly Father.  Loving, kind, forgiving, but strong and committed to me as I am to Him!!

America, I Am calling your name

At one time America was a great and noble nation.  We believed in the God of the Bible and set a standard of compassion and fair treatment that was astounding.  We have always been the first to help out nations in the midst of their own national distress.  We sent missionaries across the globe to raise the standard of living and also to establish God's word.  We were first to fight.  We were first to give money to rebuild, even an enemy we had once tried to destroy.  God's grace was upon us.  God blessed America and God set a hedge of protection on this land.
Not anymore.  I fear that God's hand of judgement is moving and hovering over this once proud and benevolent nation.  We as a country are experiencing exactly what we deserve.  We have turned our back on God, took Him out of the schools, won't allow his name to be mentioned at public affairs.  We collectively have told God to leave us alone, but if we need you we will let you know.  How would you feel if you as a parent had done all you could to make a great life for your children, and then to have them turn away from you and spend time with someone else?  How would you feel if your children told you not to come around unless invited?  What would you do?  What would you do??
