I remember Christmas morning when I was a child. The excitement of unopened presents, a good meal, and lots of visits by cousins and other family members. I truly had a very blessed childhood. Back in the 50's and 60's the world was definitely a much different place. No political correctness and not chaos or bitterness of this present time.
Today Christmas is mostly rushing and running to get the gifts bought and then returning those same gifts or others that have been received. Family members are scattered all across the country, an even continents. True Christmas has lost a lot of it's childlike innocence. True Christmas is remembering the reason for the season, the birth of our Savior who would redeem us from our sins. True Christmas is about Jesus not material gifting. True Christmas is giving and not expecting anything in return. True Christmas has Christ in it. True Christmas has faith, hope, peace, and joy. True Christmas is a hope for a better world. True Christmas is Jesus! Let the spirit of a true Christmas inhabit your heart this Christmas season.
Just as the wise men searched and looked for the new borne King, so we need to search for and receive the King of Kings and Lord of Lords in our hearts.
My profound Christmas wish for you today is to fine the happiness and peace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
