How many of you make resolutions for the new year? How many fail in those in the first few weeks or months of the new year? Many times as Christians we resolve to study more, pray more, or be a more effective follower of Christ. We fail. Jesus has a wonderful way of restoring us. He does not humiliate us. He does not criticize us. He does not ask us to try harder. He simply pulls us aside and ask us, do you love me?
We all try to please Jesus with our works, but He really wants our heart. Peter failed at the most critical time. Jesus just asked Peter about his heart condition. Peter do you love me? If our answer is yes, then our failures of the past will stay in the past. If we truly love Him, our service for him in the new year will be of the quality that He desires.
