Power, not Fear

2 Timothy 1:7 say God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
The only fear that should enter a Christian's life is the fear or holy reverence of God (2 Corinthians 5:10-11, Hebrews 10:31).  Fear of people or circumstances is not of God, but of the enemy of our soul.  Fear hinders us of doing the will of God.  Fear causes us to stop and question what God has clearly told us to do.  Most fear comes from the unknown.  We don't know what is in front of us, so we become apprehensive. Our imaginations magnify problems until they become insurmountable.  That is why God has given us the Holy Spirit, to see things as God sees them. Fear should not be an excuse to disobey God, or be enslaved to doubt.  Ask God to free you from fear, whether people or circumstance.  Remember we have been given power, love and a sound mind!  Get in the Word and pray, all fear will begin to disappear.  Face your fear with the Word!
